Fraud Alert!
Below are samples of scam emails that NCBTMB is currently aware of that target massage therapists and bodyworkers. If you receive one of these emails, please ignore it and do not respond.
NCBTMB has also been informed of an individual that has been harassing and/or stalking practitioners, please click here to learn more.
If you receive an email that you suspect is a scam and it isn’t included below, please forward it to info@ncbtmb.org.

Hello,
I am Jack from Canada, I saw your posting at www.ncbtmb.org and i will like
to know if you will be able to massage my wife and i, whenever we are in your
city from Canada. If you will be able for the massage session, kindly let me know
your schedule via my private email here jackmelton01@yahoo.com. I will await to
hear back from you as soon as possible so i can send your more details on your
service wanted.

When the therapist responded to the email, they were sent the message below:
Hello,
I will love your service for family .We are coming over to your city as soon as possible from Canada to spend our vacation there in your city and we will be needing your service. we are planning on vacation to states and will be needing massage therapist that will be giving service to us. This is the following service needed below .
* Boost the immune system
* Significantly lower blood pressure
* Comfort those going through alcohol withdrawal
* Sooth chronic joint and muscle pain
* Battle fatigue
We believe the body is like a symphony. All parts must be in complete harmony with each other in order for a masterpiece to occur. It is no wonder that we only achieve ideal health when our body, mind, and spirit find perfect peace and harmony with one another. So for we to have a great vacation and good stay in your city back after Hard-working session here (Canada) .
We will like you to get back to your service fee for couple of 60 minutes message for each massage above and Hope it`s going to be negotiable. We will be in your city between 13h of February 2009. I will have to pay with a certified bank check that will be issue out to you by my financial officer in the state for the booking and our flight money so you will be able to wired the remaining balance to our flight agent in the state as soon as you cash the check.
I await to hear back from you with your information so i can have it forwarded to my financial officer and our booking will be done with you.

I'm contacting you not for other reason but to seek for your service; I'll be coming over to the State for an assignment in your City. At the course of this, I would be glad if you would render me a Massage during the period of my stay... Is that anything good to you? I work and travel too much due to the nature of my job, but at the same time health should be taking good care of...I use to experience this unusual joint pains each day after work, I consumed much medicine and treatment but seems not effective as expected. At the cause of this my Doctor recommended that I go for massage since last year but I had a tight schedule all through, but this time I want to use this opportunity because Health Is Wealth. Hello Therapist,
My name is Jason Anderson, a subcontractor of Turner construction
which head quarters is located in New York.I live in the United
kingdom.I saw your post on www.ncbtmb.org so i decided to contact you
that I will be coming over to your city for a meeting with 3 of
our business associates. I will like to know if you can render us your
massage services for the period of our stay.
I will like to let you know that we will prefer a Deep tissue (Body)
massage. We will be coming over for the meeting on the 21 of june 2010
and will likely be staying over for five days,meaning that you will be
rendering your services for 5 days. We will like you to schedule us for
different massage sessions our meeting starts by 10:30am to 11:30 am
everyday for the 5 (five) days before commencement of my meetings.
Please let me know your full charges.Further more, i want to
inform you that i will be lodging in one of the hotels in the city, i
can have my driver bring me over to your massage center daily or
preferably i will be most delighted if you can come over to the hotel
to have me massaged, no offense but due to the fact that my meetings
will be holding that early.To make it easier for the both of us, i
will like to know if there is a very good hotel close to you where i
can lodge so i could come over myself.
Let me know if this is ok by you so that we can make a final
arrangements and you can have us fixed in your schedule for this
date.Thank you very much and i await to hear back from you on a timely
fashion.
P-s: Let me know the cost of your massage services for one hour 30min daily.
